Job Description

A leading innovative healthcare company specializing in the service and asset management of movable medical equipment for healthcare systems and hospitals is currently hiring a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) with minimum 1 years experience in the repair and preventive maintenance of medical equipment.

Job Description Summary:

This is an entry level position. The Biomedical Equipment Technician supports our Multi-Vendor Biomedical business within an assigned geographical area or another assigned account. This position will be responsible for customer relationship management through the effective use of communications and technical knowledge to install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain equipment at customer sites.

Maintain equipment by performing necessary repair, periodic maintenance and operational verification procedures. P erforms skilled, technical and advisory work in the repair, maintenance and calibration of general and/or complex medical equipment. Performs quality assurance testing and calibration. This position is expected to have the ability to multi-task several projects.

•Analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs medical equipment and systems utilizing established electronic tests and measurement equipment and techniques.
•Performs scheduled maintenance, calibrations and/or modifications on medical equipment and systems, in accordance with department procedures, manufacturers' recommendations, specifications and/or other applicable codes and standards.
•Must be familiar with medical equipment technology, and networking technology.
•Documents and maintains accurate records of all inspections, repairs, adjustments, etc. performed on all equipment.
•May install or assist in the installation of new medical equipment, modifications.
•Requests and/or orders necessary repair and spare parts according to established procedures and contract relationships.

Qualifications
•Associate Degree or its equivalent in electronics, biomedical equipment technology strongly preferred or its equivalent in military service training.
Entry Level Position, Minimum of one or more years of hospital-based or medical equipment service experience.
•Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office or similar products (primarily Word and Excel).
•Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of networking technology.
•Valid US state driver's license and good driving record.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • MINIMUM of 1-2 years biomedical equipment repair / Entry-level position.
  • AA or 2 year certificate in Electronics Technology or Biomedical Equipment Technology, or equivalent military experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • An aptitude for understanding the operation of electronic, electromechanical and pneumatic devices.
  • Able to work independently in repair, periodic maintenance and operational verification of medical equipment.

Must have a valid US driver's license and good driving record.

Must be able to work in the US without Visa sponsorship.
