Rockydale Quarries Corporation, a well-known aggregate producer of crushed stone and aggregates throughout the state of Virginia, is hiring a Dozer Operator for our Appomattox, Virginia location.
Job Responsibilities:
Operate a bulldozer for tasks such as maintaining dump areas, building drill benches, and land reclamation.
Follow safety guidelines and maintenance schedules.
Communicate clearly in person and by 2-way radio.
Experience operating bulldozers with electric-over-hydraulic controls or steering clutches.
Able to grade land by sight and follow grade stakes for detailed work.
Comfortable working on steep slopes and in various ground types.
Able to control blade direction and movement.
Knowledge of MSHA and DMME safety rules.
Able to read equipment manuals and complete basic reports.
Perform daily equipment checks before use.
Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, climb, kneel, push, pull, and lift for up to 12 hours a shift.
Work at heights up to 350 feet.
Use required safety gear (PPE).
Walk and stand on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
Work outdoors in all weather (hot, cold, rain, dust).
Work in noisy environments while wearing proper safety gear.
Exposure to dust, diesel exhaust, fuels, and lubricants.
