Careerscape is working with a Hartford public library that needs a Librarian to manage collections, assist patrons, and develop programs. You'll help community members access information and foster love of reading.

Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with research and finding materials
- Manage library collections and make selection decisions
- Develop and present programs for various age groups
- Provide technology assistance to library users
- Teach information literacy skills
- Maintain cataloging and classification systems
- Supervise library assistants and volunteers
- Create displays and promote library services
- Collaborate with community organizations
Requirements
- Master of Library Science degree from ALA accredited program
- Connecticut librarian certification or ability to obtain
- 2-4 years of library experience preferred
- Strong reference and research skills
- Knowledge of library systems and cataloging
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Technology skills including databases and digital resources
- Creative programmer and community connector
- Passion for reading and lifelong learning
