As Low Voltage Electrician with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, you'll support electrical contractors throughout Memphis, TN. and the surrounding area. In this full time role, you'll enjoy weekly pay, and health insurance benefits.

You'll lead the way with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage electrical systems within the data center environment. You will work with advanced systems including telecommunications, fiber optic, and structured cabling systems to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards. Note: The hourly rate for this position is $35 - $45 / hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. Responsibilities:

  • Hours: 7 X 12's
  • Experience with construction of Data Center Facilities such as EdgeConneX, DataBank, lumen, Verizon, Connect Data Centers, and Sentinel Data Centers - required
  • Install, terminate and test low voltage systems such as structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic), security systems (CCTV, access control), and fire alarm systems
  • Conduct detailed system testing and validation for new installations, ensuring all systems meet performance specifications
  • Accurately label all installed cables, panels, and terminations to ensure proper identification and facilitate future troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Working from lifts up to 20 feet in the air or higher Splice, terminate, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables
  • Review blueprints and building code specifications to determine work details and procedures
  • Measure, cut and bend conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools
  • Perform semiskilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment
  • Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electrical Code as well as all safety codes

Qualifications:

  • Have 4 or more years of proven experience as a low voltage Electrician
  • Ability to bend, run, and strap conduit
  • Experience operating and working from lifts
  • Proficient with electrical processes & codes
  • Competent with reading blueprints, drawings, & diagrams
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Prior experience in the commercial field preferred
  • Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, conduit benders
  • Have tools of the electrical trade and bring them to work daily
  • Ability to work overtime
