Our client Kid Millionaire Corp is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Librarian to provide leadership in library services, collections, and programming. The Senior Librarian will play a key role in strategic planning, staff mentorship, and the delivery of high-quality information services that support the needs of our community.
This position is a pivotal leadership role within the library, overseeing the management of collections, implementing innovative library services, and guiding staff to deliver exceptional user experiences. This position requires a highly organized professional with extensive knowledge of library systems, cataloging standards, and information management. The Senior Librarian is responsible for developing strategic initiatives, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with archival standards while fostering a collaborative environment that promotes community engagement and lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide leadership and direction in library operations, programs, and services
· Manage, develop, and evaluate library collections in multiple formats
· Supervise, mentor, and support librarians and support staff
· Design and implement innovative programs, services, and outreach initiatives
· Conduct advanced research assistance and reference services
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support institutional goals
· Oversee policies, procedures, and best practices in librarianship
· Monitor trends in library science, technology, and information services
· Assist with budgeting, grant writing, and resource planning as needed
Required Qualifications
· Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS or MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution
· Minimum of 5- 10 years plus of progressively responsible professional library experience
· Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
· Strong knowledge of library systems, databases, and digital resources
· Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
· Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and community engagement
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in [academic / public / special / corporate] library settings
· Expertise in emerging technologies, digital libraries, or data management
· Experience with strategic planning and program development
· Record of professional engagement or continuing education
